Love Letter #392
I will always remember your sympathy for my weary heart. The soft mattress. The mornings full of sex. Coffee chats. Afternoons of exhausted friendship. The nights of giggles and kisses. Deep sleeps while your soft ass pressed upon my scarred existence. You taught me to stop slogging through the sludge of mediocrity and to love without reason. In you there was reinvention. The poetry flowed with new meaning. Cooked food tasted of purpose and labor led to new rewards. After your absence, what remained of me was less of a man, but more of a person. Faith found. Art embraced. Delicate delights became better understood. Never again will I doubt that which I once doubted. Always– your memory shall haunt my mattress, coffee mug, and the lonely, exhausted afternoons after each day's labor has come to an end.
